Unable to configure Hyper-V (07777736)

Post by DanCasan »

Hi all,
we are having problem with 2 hyper-v (one in workgroup and one in domain). The problem is this:

Failed to connect to host "hostname"

Server "hostname" does not exist or access denied.

Check firewall settings.

Possibile reasons:
1. Invalid credentials
2. Specified host is not a Hyper-V server.

For sure is not the credential, we are using the admin. All the networks tests ended succesfully, we've already opened a case to VEEAM (07777736) and a case to Microsoft.
Has anyone had the same problem?

Thank you.

Hi DanCasan,

Typically this is due to permission and / or AV / firewall as noted in the Support case. We also have a KB on the subject here: https://www.veeam.com/kb1914

Unfortunately we won't be able to troubleshoot over the forums -- I can see the Veeam case was closed out after reaching out to Microsoft, so for further investigation, it's to open a new support case and refer to your old case if the issue remains the same.

Similarly, as I see on the previous case you were on Veeam v12, consider upgrading to v13 and testing with a Deployment kit. This vastly simplifies the process of adding a Hyper-V host to the backup server.
