Can we prevent useres from saving the credentials for the b&r console using "remember me"? If so, how?

Hello, no it's not possible to prevent.

Also not necessarily a good idea from security perspective because user will then be storing credentials elsewhere (Password Manager or text file on a desktop). The reason is that entering DISA STIG compliant credentials manually on a daily basis is exceptionally annoying due to their complexity. So you will go from the situation where you do not have saved credentials anywhere at all, to having them saved in some uncontrolled location.

I think by now any professional admin needs a properly secured password manager and it is my understanding that storing passwords for interactive login is not the way to prevent users from storing passwords in plaintext files on the desktop. Is this the official position from veeam not to allow us to disable this option?

Yes, it is technically not possible to disable this option right now.
