Veeam Calculator Forecast Issue

Post by jotge »

Hello everyone,

I use the https://www.veeam.com/calculators/simple/vbr/machines calculator and may I be wrong, but if I calculate a VM backup for...

- 10 TB source data
- 3% daily change rate
- 0-year forecast
- 10% growth
- 50% compression
- 14 days retention
- ReFS
- without GFS

... and arrive at a required repository capacity of 35.4 TB, wouldn't I then have to see a higher required capacity if I simply increase the forecast period from 0 to 5 years?

However, I get exactly the same values (all values) displayed again. :o Did I miss anything about growth, or is that a mistake?

Best regards

I get 15.9TB with your numbers above. The forecast value does not change the results for me as well, so it would appear its value is ignored in calculations. But we cannot say for sure as this calculator is not delivered by the product R&D team so we don't have the source code. Thanks

Just a note Jan, you can click the "Submit Feedback" link on the calculator web page itself to be taken to the community forums and discuss directly with the maintainers of the calculators.

Hi David,

thanks for pointing that out. I did indeed overlook it.

There is now a post about it in the appropriate place: https://community.veeam.com/calculator- ... #post86142 :)
