We are currently experiencing an issue where Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV continuously attempts to create application-consistent snapshots through Nutanix Guest Tools (NGT), even when this is not possible or desired for certain VMs.
Regardless of configuration settings, Veeam still instructs Nutanix to attempt application-consistent snapshots, leading to a large number of warning or error messages from Nutanix (i.e., “application-consistent snapshot could not be created”). This behavior results in unnecessary log noise and false-positive alerts in our monitoring systems.
According to Veeam Support, there is currently no option to disable NGT application-consistency attempts per VM and to forcibly use crash-consistent snapshots only. The only configuration toggle (“Enable application-aware processing”) switches control to NGT, but does not suppress NGT’s internal consistency attempts.

Feature Request:
We would like to request an option (either globally or per protected VM) to:
- Disable application-consistent snapshot attempts, and
Force crash-consistent snapshots directly, without triggering NGT to try application-consistency.
- NGT is installed but not fully configured,
Application-consistent snapshots are not supported for technical or policy reasons, or
Reducing Nutanix alert noise and backup job warnings is required.
Such a feature would greatly improve backup reliability and operational visibility while maintaining flexibility for mixed workloads.

Veeam Backup & Replication integration in place
Thank you for considering this enhancement!
