Migrate VM to another ESX Server
Hi,
Basically I have VMs that I migrated to another ESX server. They are not manage by a vCenter Server.
How can i reconfigure the backup job for that VMs to continue the backup chain instead of creating a new full backup?
I've been searching the web and found nothing that works for me. I've tried removing the backup configuration and re-mapping the restore point but it didn't work.
Any suggestions?

Re: Migrate VM to another ESX Server
Hello,
The only option is to run an active full backup because the migrated VMs have new references and are therefore seen by Veeam as entirely new objects. It is not possible to link the new backup chain with the previous one.
Thanks!

Re: Migrate VM to another ESX Server
Wow. I can't believe it's that difficult to change the VMs host. Having a vCenter server is one thing. But in our case we have couple of hosts in our DR site that we think not necessary to have a vCenter server. Having to run full backup again with 18TB of data just because we migrated the VMs to another host looks like not a very helpful idea.

@storageguy
why not just setup a little vCenter server in your DR site ... if you are running a supported environment - it's included in the license.
Makes life much more easier ...
