Worker Profile Sizing

Post by JayClarke »

The default worker sizing is the FSv2 family

Small profile: Standard_F2s_v2
Medium profile: Standard_F4s_v2
Large profile: Standard_F8s_v2

We are hitting CPU quota limits which are now causing failures with waiting for available workers.
Microsoft have advised they cannot or will not increase our quota for the FSv2 family in UK South.
They have suggested the following for migration.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure ... tion-guide

I've not yet tried other families, anyone else specifying different machine sizes that work ?
And prefably cheaper than the recommended migration from Microsoft.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jason,

We are aware of the change by Microsoft. We are looking into how this can be resolved but have no direct ETA. I would recommend for now, to push Microsoft for an increase until we have implemented a solution.

Niels
I've been back to Microsoft twice.
Will other compute families work ? Hoping we don't have to test this in production.
Really need some direction from veeam.

This the latest reply.

"We understand you need assistance on quota increase for FSv2 Series to 60, in UK South region for the subscription: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

As we expand our Azure infrastructure, we deploy hardware that is not merely ‘more of the same’. Instead, our expansion is comprised of newer-generation hardware designed to support the latest virtual machine types.

Unfortunately, the original F, Fs, Fsv2, Lsv2, Av2, Amv2, B series VMsdo not run on our latest generation infrastructure, so we are directing customers to utilize their corresponding newer generation VM Series."
