Veeam Agent Linux OL8 6.3

Hello all
I have installed a preinstalled agent with protection group (Agent Linux version : v6.3.2.1207) i have enable the encyption in job Managed by agent (type linux agent policy) et repository and define a password
But i my problem if I restore a file in the VM no password is required.
It's normal ? i have make a mistake

Hi,

The restore is being done through Veeam Backup & Replication, which already has the encryption password, please see the User Guide here.
If the restore were performed directly from the repository or by importing the backup, then the password would be required. So that’s normal

Right, password will be required if a bad actor copies (steals) a backup file and imports it into another backup server for restoration purposes. This is the scenario backup encryption protects against. It's not meant to protect against the same backup admins who can freely set, change and remove encryption passwords anyway.

Ok thanks, existing a road for allow the backup with agent but no the restoration .I want the the user can just restore with interface web Enterprise management and not the agent.
