Windows SQL 2025

Post by mogan2055847 » 1 person likes this post

Hello,

We're in the mid of plan for the Microsoft SQL Server 2025 upgrade.

Do you have any idea when VDP 13 (both agentless and Agent) will support SQL Server 2025 application awareness backup? Current latest support is Microsoft SQL Server 2022.

Thank up in advance.

Hi Mogansundram,

Time to support new app versions depends heavily on whether there are any major or breaking changes that require significant changes to our code. But in general, our target for new app versions support is 90 days. This is primarily driven by an average cadence of release vehicles for new app versions support which are maintenance releases.

For reference, SQL Server 2025 became generally available on November 18, 2025 only. From what I can see, our QA team is already testing the new SQL version with all our products (VM + Agent AAIP, MSSQL Plugin).

Hi @Mildur
Can you confirm whether MS SQL 2025 support with application aware backup/restore wil be added to version 12 also?
I certainly hopes so :).

Hi Ehfraim,

v12 reached the end-of-fix stage when v13 became generally available so it will not receive any new features or enhancements including new platforms support.

We will announce support for v12 only if we can confirm that Microsoft SQL 2025 works out of the box with version v12.3.2.

Best regards,
