Schedule button missing from PVE Jobs

Hello,

I noticed that in Proxmox backup jobs, for example, in the "Periodically Every" section under the Schedule tab, the "Schedule" button is missing. This feature is particularly useful for preventing the job from running during specific time windows.

This "button" is present on VMWare Backup jobs...

Is it just me, or is this a common issue?

It is not an issue; there is currently no Backup Window feature for periodically scheduled PVE jobs.

I too would like to see the "Schedule" button added to the scheduling options. I want backups to run every hour during business hours, but I don't want or need them running after hours. Hopefully it will be added in a upcoming release.

Without the schedule option how can I make sure that these backups won't run while doing health checks?

This is really anyoing for the backup schedules at our customers infrastructure. (we migrate our customers from vmware to Proxmox btw)
We need to run during daytime for every hour, but from like 20:00 this is useless and only resource consuming without any added data protection value.
This "quite" time is the being used for offsite cloudconnect backups to run properly without interruptions lik 'backup source in use by another job' etc...

I cannot get the techinical logic/reason on why it takes almost a full year to implement an existing button into the PVE Backup jobs.

I really hope this gets tackled soon.

Thanks for checking in. We’ve prioritised other, more requested features for now.
Adding this option still requires RnD resources, which are currently allocated elsewhere.
Yet, your feedback is noted.
