Hello,
I am newbie to the VRO client wants to upgrade to Veeam Premium and use VRO to setup Site to Site Failover and Failback one click both ways if possible.
Sites are VMware vCenter 8.02 on both sides the host in Main site are 8.02 the host at DR site are 7.03 Dell Servers
Dell PowerVault SANS same models at both sites shared storage for datastores
One Veeam B&R server for backups currently at Main stie 2 Synology nas to backup to one for main site the other for DR site
Are there any how to step by step with best practice articles or videos (preferable)
Lot of questions:
Do we spin up 2 new vms Site A and Site B DR to deploy?
What spec do you recommend for them ? I was thinking 4CPU , 16GB Memory, 120GB hdd space /thin provisioned
What order do we install VRO premium? I know there is a certain order when updating products?
Can we use Veeam Enterprise manager so we can control and see both sites? Is this recommended?
Can this be setup so if site A (Main Site) goes down then user can 1-Click the failover process so that Site B (DR site) can now run the business ?
Once Site A is backup we then failback to them 1-Click and all comes back up?
I know there is alot of planning and configuration of the IP's and Re IP's but will the user have to do any of this on the FB making the 1-Click process more involved ?
Thanks in advance

Re: New VRO Setup Help?
Hello and welcome to the Veeam forums!
First let me confirm that VRO (Orchestrator) can indeed do everything you ask about, Orchestrator was designed for this exact scenario!
Second I would recommend you check out the VRO Heroes Den on our veeam.com Community site.
There are loads of great VRO resources there, blogs and guides as well as (free!) training and a really helpful community.
For specific questions such as 'how many CPUs for the VRO server', please see the Hardware Recommendations in the User Guide - basically the sizing depends how many VMs you want to orchestrate.
The installation of all 3 required products (Veeam Orchestrator, Veeam Backup and Veeam ONE) is automated in a single setup wizard when you use the Veeam Data Platform ISO, so you don't need to worry about the order of installation.
Also in the User Guide we have various Deployment Scenarios including Replica Failover. These diagrams are great to visualize where the various components go and how they are connected.
Hope that helps!

Re: New VRO Setup Help?
Mr. King ,
Thank you for getting back to me.
I have VBR 12.3 setup on site A and it runs backups
Site B doesnt have anything yet .
Is VRO supposed to be installed at both sites
Will I be able to install just VRO on site A since VBR 12.3 and V1 are already installed and setup
I assume the VBR versions have to be the same correct?
