Hello,
we have the trouble, that we want to Protect the same VM in a Backup-Policy and in an other Policy for Snapshoting before Patchday or manual Snapshots.
Our Veeam say: This resource is Protected by another Policy and skipped it.
Any body can say us: Why can a VM only have one policy, we dont understand why this restriction? Is there perhaps a way to bypass this restriction?
Thank you
kindly Regards

Re: Veeam for Azure Backup: Why VMs can be protected by only 1 Policy?
Hi,
This is indeed the current product design. We recommend for patch days to create a manual snapshot.
Even if you would have 2 policies, it could be that the policy ran hours before and if you would run the policy manually, it would create a separate snapshot outside of the policy retention so there is no difference compared to taking a manual snapshot.
