Need confirmation about FLR
Hi all,
Happy new year !
When using the "Restore Guest Files" wizard, I am unable to use the "Copy to" function (i have Proxmox VE 8.4.16 and VEEAM VBR 13). I can browse the directories in the backup file but i cant use the "Copy To" function: the "OK" button is greyed out even when i have selected a destination path.
The "restore" function is working (if the file is missing in my running VM the file is restored as intended).
The "Considerations and Limitations" page about Proxmox states the following: "Veeam Plug-in for Proxmox VE supports only file-level restore from backups stored in HPE StoreOnce Cloud Bank Storage repositories."
So i assume thats a product limitation ? (i don't have the same problem with VMWARE)
Thanks a lot
Guillaume

Re: Need confirmation about FLR
Hi Guillaume
I assume the intended meaning was: from HPE StoreOnce Cloud Bank Storage repositories, only file-level restore is supported. I’ll double-check with our documentation team so we can remove or update that statement.
Copy To is available in my lab, so I recommend reaching out to our customer support team to investigate why it’s not available for your machine.

Best,
Fabian
That statement could be misunderstood (Help Center) — file-level restore works from any repository type. The "Considerations and Limitations" page about Proxmox states the following: "Veeam Plug-in for Proxmox VE supports only file-level restore from backups stored in HPE StoreOnce Cloud Bank Storage repositories."

Re: Need confirmation about FLR
Thanks a lot Fabian: glad to ear that the feature is available !
What i dont understand is that i have the same problem with another Proxmox VE / Veeam B&R 13.01 in my lab: the Ok buton is greyed out too.
Any issue with the worker or my Proxmox VE version ? I tried with a Veeam B&R 12 backup file / a Veeam B&R 13 backup file / a brand new VM and backup job ... without success.
Best regards.
Guillaume

Re: Need confirmation about FLR
Hello,
I got the same situation on my lab with v13.0.1.1071.
Same for a customer with v13.0.1.180
Working on 2 other veeam that are still in v12
for the 2 versions that don't work, it's VMware based backup
Did you got an answer from the support team?
Thanks
Adrien

Re: Need confirmation about FLR
Hello
Same for me in my lab (Veeam B&R 13.0.1.180 under Proxmox 9.1.4). When i backup a brand new Windows 11 machine (Cryptolocker disabled) i cant use the "Copy to" function with a FLR session: the OK button is greyed out.
I am gonna try with 13.0.1.180 but i am not really confident ...
Regards
Guillaume

Same thing on 2 different installations (Proxmox 8.4.6 or 9.1.4).
I think there's a problem with v13 ...

Hello,
If the Veeam Backup & Replication console is launched on the backup server, the Copy to operation does not allow copying files to the backup server. You can only copy files to a network shared folder. See User Guide here.
If the console is launched on any other machine, there are no restrictions — you can copy files to the local machine.

Hello Rovshan
Thanks a lot: i am gonna try that.
That's a new limitation of the v13 ? I never encountered this problem with version 12 under VMware (i am sure i was able to use the "Copy To" function and save files on the desktop of the VBR server)
