Does Veeam Plan On Deprecating The Version That Runs On Windows??

Post by jimmlegs »

I am curious as to how much longer Veeam will be offering a stand-alone Windows installer. I assume the idea it to push everyone over to the Linux based appliance.

Hello David,

We have no plans to deprecate Veeam B&R on Windows. Thank you!

We invested a lot of R&D time to make the code base cross-platform and we see less than 10% of bugs being Windows-specific, therefore from technical perspective there is no reason to discontinue. Business may decide otherwise with time however for now they see it as a major deployment flexibility differentiator versus competition.
