Protection Domain (PD) and Snapshot Orchestration Deprecation

After seeing some support case traffic on this topic thought it would be good to shed some additional light on two Nutanix backup job types we have deprecated in the current release. Protection Domain (PD) and AHV snapshot are no longer supported job types. Both of these entities are of course already schedule-able with standard Nutanix facilities today so no functional capability is diminished only relocated back to Prism. We've made these changes for a variety of reasons. Foremost among these is that our telemetry data shows that only a very small fraction of our customer base utilizes these job types. When weighed against the continued engineering resources required to support these vs. actual field use it seemed sensible to us to retire these features. This allowed us to focus on higher priority enhancements (such as the simplification of the overall solution architecture in removing the AHV backup "appliance"). We also try to stay in lockstep with Nutanix and their general direction away from Prism Element constructs (i.e. Protection Domains) was also a factor in the decision.
