Enterprise Backup Manager does not work with SC//Hypercore
I have confirmed that this is at this time not implemented, but as companies move away from VMware and Hyper-V towards others like Scale Computing, KVM, OVirt etc. EBM is going to be more and more critical as it is often used by the end user or local IT Admins for file restores. As these admins do not have the ability to log into the local Veeam backup servers directly, this will severely hamper restoration efforts.
Can we please look into getting the EBM to work with these 'plug-ins' as it does with the VMWare and Hyper-V native solutions? Or even better yet, make these Plug-ins as checkable native options during install?
For instance, I need to install plug-ins to backup Hyper-V and SC//Hypercore, check check and install. No wasted space on OVirt or KVM or VMware piece and when EBM is installed it WORKS with these options.
I'd be happy to help test any updates to these functions.

Re: Enterprise Backup Manager does not work with SC//Hypercore
Hi Jeff,
I apologize if I misunderstood, but I think you might be referring to two different topics — Enterprise Manager support vs. Plugins on the backup server used for backup and restore tasks.
From your message, it sounds like you’re asking about support for these workloads within Enterprise Manager.
Regarding Enterprise Manager support — you’re correct, it’s not currently implemented.
However, our goal is to add SC workloads in a future version to our our new and modern Web UI introduced in Veeam Backup & Replication v13.
These workloads will also become supported by our new Custom Roles, which will allow you to define granular permissions — specifying which end users or administrators can restore from particular servers, as well as which restore options they can use.
Best regards,
Fabian

Re: Enterprise Backup Manager does not work with SC//Hypercore
Hi Fabian,
You are correct, I guess I muddied the waters with two thoughts.
Yes, I am asking about support in EBM for the workloads provided by the plug-ins. I see this as one function. If the plugin exists, I feel that it should be supported by the EBM. Any ideas when this may be available for Alpha or Beta testing? This EBM function was a driving factor in the decision for Veeam, as I can allow even users to restore their own files.
Also, the thought of a modular installation routine. Just something for the suggestion box.

Re: Enterprise Backup Manager does not work with SC//Hypercore
Hi Jeff,
Fully understood.
There is currently no ETA for when Scale Computing will be added to the new Web UI. However, I can confirm that it is not expected in the next minor update (v13.1).
Our goal is to eventually integrate all workloads (Hypervisor, Agent, Unstructured Data, Enterprise Applications, etc.), but the release order depends on the usage and demand we see across these workloads in our customer base.
Best regards,
Fabian

We are aware of this request. I'll make a note. Also, the thought of a modular installation routine. Just something for the suggestion box.

Re: Enterprise Backup Manager does not work with SC//Hypercore
Hi Fabian,
Is the situation regarding the integration with Enterprise Manager the same for HPE VME as well?
We are currently a Service Provider using VMware vCloud, and we are planning the transition to HPE Morpheus.
As you know, the integration between vCloud and Enterprise Manager enables us to offer a self‑service model to our customers, allowing them to manage their backup jobs and any restore jobs completely autonomously.
If we want to continue using Veeam, it is essential that we maintain the same level of service even after the transition to HPE.
Best regards,
Marco

Hi Marco
You can find the detailed feature list in the HPE VME Beta topic.
It will take a few versions before we achieve comparable feature coverage for HPE VME.
Best,
Fabian
Yes, you can expect the same for HPE VME.Is the situation regarding the integration with Enterprise Manager the same for HPE VME as well?
This initial release (version 1) focuses on the core backup and restore capabilities — the most important features to get started. If we want to continue using Veeam, it is essential that we maintain the same level of service even after the transition to HPE.
