HPE VME - Socket licenses in the future?

Post by gilland »

Hi,

I'm wondering if in the future with the full release it will be necessary to continue using instances for VME backups or if it will be possible to use sockets also for the backups?

Hi Gilland,

Legacy Socket licensing are not available for new purchases for some years now.

They remains usable for existing Socket license owners and support Hyper‑V or VMware hypervisors only, just as when they were purchased.

There are no plans to reintroduce Socket licensing.
