Before opening a ticket i try here...maybe someone has encoured the same problem.
I'm migrating my jobs from Veeam 12 to Veeam 13 (appliance) and I've a problem with the backup of a share.
On Veeam 12 everything is working fine.
On Veeam 13 (configured exactly as Veeam 12, same passwords,etc....) when i try to backup a shared folder (SMB) of a remote windows server, after a while i get these errors on the report:
Calculating file share size
Backing up 30 files and 0 folders (630.1 MB) transferred at 2 MB/s
Failed to perform file backup Error: Backup proxy agent on host VBR13is not responding
Error: Backup proxy agent on host VBR13is not responding
Processing finished with errors at 1/28/2026 9:37:29 AM
Some files remained locked for the entire duration of the backup job, and were skipped. Skipped files report can be found on the backup server at /var/log/VeeamBackup/SCT-Lavori_QNAP0/__10.157.158.135_e/Report/__10.157.158.135_e_2026-01-28T092933.csv
Please open a Support Case as is noted when creating a topic. While I understand you were hoping someone maybe had info to share, all technical issues need to be addressed through Veeam Support, we cannot meaningfully do troubleshooting over the forums.
The error very likely will require review of the debug logs as we can see that it looks like for some reason one of the datamover agents (veeamagent process) is unreachable, but further details would require a review of the logs.
