[Feature Request] RegEx Filtering in Custom Views

Post by Gene-MN »

Hi all. I have seen a few requests for this in the past so I thought I would bring it to the forefront again to see if it can gain traction this time. The basic request is to add RegEx filtering for the "Job name includes:" in Custom Views. Bonus if we can include an Excludes field as well.

For example:
We have 3 Azure environments.
Our Azure Admins defined our naming conventions as "s-xxxxxxxxx" for one environment and "rs-xxxxxxxx" for the other two.
Under the current Custom View settings there is no easy way to differentiate between the two.
"s-" returns all three environments.

Maybe a delimited "Starts with:" would be a down and dirty way to add part of the functionality we are looking for but a RegEx filter along with an Excludes, also RegEx, would be much more useful.

Another nice feature would be the ability to share the Custom Views with other Admins... Even if it was by an export/import feature.

Thank you for the consideration.

Hi Gene,

Thanks for the request. We’ll discuss it.
If we decide to add this capabilities, it will most likely be added to our new Web UI instead of the backup console.

Best,
