Hello,
we have updates to v13 and my colleagues with "Veeam Backup Viewer" role can't see the tape infrastructure anymore. This was possible in v12, is this expected? Is there any workaround?
We have to check which tapes are expired and which tapes have to be removed from the tape library, therefor we don't need any further permission than read only.
Thanks!

Re: v13 Veeam Backup Viewer
Hi RH
In v13, all menu nodes that are not related to the assigned role will be hidden.
Since Backup Viewers are typically only concerned with displaying backups only, the Tape menu node is also hidden for users assigned only the Backup Viewer role.
I couldn’t find any option to enable the Tape view other than assigning the user the Veeam Tape Operator role.
However, I’ll bring your use case to the attention to our team.
Best,
Fabian

Re: v13 Veeam Backup Viewer
Thanks, I've also created a case.
We need this function as we don't want to assign the tape operator role but need to view the tape inventory.

Re: v13 Veeam Backup Viewer
Hi RH,
A support case isn’t needed, as our Customer Support team won’t be able to restore the view.
We’ll discuss this internally with our R&D team to see what can be done.
Just to confirm — you’re looking for a read‑only view for Tapes, so that one of your team members can check the tape serial numbers that need to be removed from the library, correct?
Best regards,
Fabian

Re: v13 Veeam Backup Viewer
Hi Fabian,
I had opened the case before your reply because I thought that's not an expected behavior as in V12 the view was available.
Yes, I need the read-only view for the tape tab to get the serial number of expired tapes and of the tapes which have to be removed from the library.
