NATS Server on every proxy server?

i got some information that the NATS service needs to be running on each proxy server? is that true?

Hi Steve,

we have only 1 NATS server (in our case remote, normally on the controller server) but many proxies.
So, I would say: No, not true.
But all proxies need to reach your NATS.

Proxies have a NATS client (deployed by the controller when you add a machine as a proxy), but no NATS server.
Can you please share where you were told about a running NATS Server on each proxy?

It seems an unclear statement was shared with the customer from our side, which led to a misunderstanding. We have corrected our statement, and the misunderstanding has been cleared up. I apologize for the confusion.

A Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 environment requires a single NATS Server.
The NATS Server does not need to be deployed on every VB365 infrastructure component.
