Replication Between Different vSphere Versions
We are considering a migration from a vSphere8 environment to a vSphere9 environment using Veeam Replication.
Note: vSphere8 environment is on VCD, vSphere9 environment will be on OCVS.
Is replication possible between different vSphere versions?
If there are any limitations or constraints, please let us know.
Best regards,

Re: Replication Between Different vSphere Versions
You can backup from vCD to regular vSphere as long as the VM Hardware version that is used at source is supported at the target VMware environment.

Thank you for your reply.
I understand that as long as the hardware versions are compatible, replication is possible even if the source and target vSphere versions differ.

Re: Replication Between Different vSphere Versions
correct.
Anyway you can always do a test to confirm that all needed firewall settings and so on are made correctly. You can even replicate an empty VM to have fast results.
