Policy recommendation for crowdstrike falcon sensor on veeam m365 machine

Post by aeph »

We are testing falcon sensor on our backup infastructure and want to know if there is a "Windows prevention policy" recommendation. We know this veeam kb article: https://www.veeam.com/kb3074

But beyond the exclusion is there any recommendation on how aggressiv we can configure the policies:

We don't want to break backups.

Thank you!

Hi Aeph,

We don’t test our products against every third‑party security application or their various settings, so perhaps another customer might be able to share their experience.

If your backup jobs are failing or behaving unexpectedly, I recommend adding the relevant Veeam folders and files as exclusions. A quick Google search tells me that folder/path exclusions can be configured for this scan features within the Windows Prevention Policy.

Best regards,
