Force Netapp LIF to backup NFS share

Post by pierre-benoit.gerber » 1 person likes this post

Hello,

I have to backup NFS share from Netapp NAS.
The SVM hosting this share has multiple LIF/IP address.
But I want to force Veeam Proxy to use a specific LIF/IP.

In the Veeam log file I can see all LIF IP address.
My proxy is in the same network than the LIF 10.23.13.11 and I want to force this network.
But Veeam define the LIF 10.100.21.22 as best IP but I don't know why...

[NetApp] IP order before ordering by physical nodes location 10.23.13.11;10.23.13.12;10.100.21.22;10.100.11.4;10.100.10.17;192.168.101.18;10.100.20.66
[NetApp] IP order after ordering by physical nodes location 10.23.13.11;10.100.21.22;10.100.11.4;10.100.10.17;192.168.101.18;10.100.20.66;10.23.13.12
Info (3) [SanNasServerProxiesFilter] Best Ip or DNS: 10.100.21.22, proxy ids with access: d6975aec-c0b1-4a16-b617-baee84445f9b

Hi Pierre,

Sorry to hear about the challenges here -- I would start with a Support Case and let Veeam Support review the behavior.

It seems a bit strange to me that the desired *13.11 address is first in the filtered list, but doesn't get chosen, so best to let Veeam Support review the debug logs and check if there is something preventing the connection over the desired network.

Please share your case number once created, thanks!
