Unable to run V12 and V13 consoles on same computer

Post by mikeely »

This is really problematic when you're the SME for the Veeam deployment and also trying to set up a test deployment of V13. You can't manage V12 infra with the V13 console and you can't manage V13 infra with the V12 console.

The least Veeam could have done was make the V13 console backward-compatible. Anyhow I've communicated to my team that I can't access the Veeam console for a while. Hopefully our internal docs are good enough...

Unless anyone knows how to set up an NFS backup repo via the web console presented by the V13 Veeam Software Appliance?

To be fair, this has literally always been the case. The console and server build have always had to match exactly.

Hi Mike

Steve is correct. Please use a separate windows machine for now.

Bringing backwards-compatiblity for the windows based console is not on our roadmap.
Our ultimate goal is to bring all console functionality to the new WEB UI. You will see new workload support and options added to the new Web UI with each minor patch. This will solve the „can not manage different versions from a single machine“ situation.

Best,
