RND is actively working on a solution, but it's still not finalized.

To confirm, would the migration between S3 Compatible systems be your primary usage scenario?

Hi Karsten,

I hear you. Veeam is here to protect your data — safety and integrity come first. We’ve never committed to fixed release dates, and for good reason. Features roll out based on demand, available resources, and shifting internal priorities. Those priorities will change when necessary, because shipping fast is never worth compromising the quality or security of your data.

Thanks

Hi Polina,

For us, yes migration between S3 compatible storage is our primary usage scenario.
Hoping RND has this ready in the next few months.

Thanks

Hi,

Our scenario would be migrating from Jet to S3 then from S3 to VDC.

Thanks

Hi there,

Any idea when we will have the ability to migrate backups while the jobs are running?
This will get critical for us soon.
Some of our clients are pushing the limits of block storage but we can't afford the missed backups when migrating a large amount of data.
Is it possible to increase the priority of the feature?

Thanks!

It's expected soon, but will only become available upon customer request. I'll notify you on the availability if you can provide me your contact details.

Hi Veeam Team,

In 10days, it will be a year since the last update. And 3 years since we were first informed that this is being worked on to migrate from JetDB to object storage.
I understand the version 8 release, the stabillity issues, the M365 cloud backup - all of this takes precedence as they generate revenue and this feature will not generate direct revenue. But it is a capability that will make the product usage a lot easy.
Back at the start of 2023, if we would have been informed that we will not get this for the next 3+ years and maybe more, we would have looked at migrating the data using the API with a scheduled downtime (which may have taken weeks). But now in the last three years, this data has grown to an extent that it is difficult to manage, while migrating now will require months of downtime.

Hi Sumeet,

The new “Jet Database to object storage migration” is currently available as a hidden feature (since v8.3).
As Polina mentioned, it is provided on "upon customer request". I’ll forward your request to our internal teams.

Best,

I am currently migrating all our clients off JetDB to v8 object storage. I would like to formally place a request for this feature, thank you.
