Hi there, seeking clarification on Virtual Lab.

Q1. SureBackup Virtual Lab can be started using backups created by a Backup Job. Can the Virtual Lab also be started using backups created by a Backup Copy Job?

Q2. Can a backup of domain controller VM (currently running in VLAN100 on the production network in Site A) be recovered in a Virtual Lab located in Site B, where the production network only has VLAN200? I have already copy over the backup to Site B backup repository.
In other words, in this step I will map VLAN200 to the isolated network instead of VLAN100:

Q1. At the moment, Virtual labs can not process backup copy jobs.
Q2. Yes, a Virtual labs can emulate the network of the production system regardless of if the backup for that system is going to be processed by a Virtual lab in a different environment. However, how you're thinking of approaching it will need to be a bit different. In the network isolation section you will still need to select the original production network of the DC on vlan100. Veeam will create a network at Site B that emulates vlan100 and that would be were we would target the DC during the SureBackup job.

There are a few things that you may need to be aware of, though, otherwise you could run into other blockers in doing this. A virtual lab created within Veeam Backup and Replication needs to be created in the same subnet as the Veeam Server itself. The reason for this is that the route tables Veeam creates for the virtual lab are only created on the local veeam server. So if you are deploying the virtual into your environment on a different network from the one that the Veeam server is on, you'll run into networking issues.
