[DOUBT] - Protection Group Design

Hello everyone,

I want to find help to understand the approach of protection group design.
Here in the company we have different protection group, with different server to allow us backups of filesystem and database using Veeam agent and Veeam plugin.

Servers are added to the protection group and later to a backup job.
Protection groups have rescan (mandatory).

If a server part of a protection group is deleted from our infrastructure (meaning, that server was demote), no backup is required. The protection group will start pop up warning message during rescan because of the server does not exist anymore, right?

To remove the server from the protection group, you need to remove the backup job first, as it is not possible to remove the server part of a backup job.

And here is the "GAME"

If don´t remove - Warning are generated because the server is not available
If delete the policy - Data will be moved to Orphaned and server can be removed from Protection group.

And now, we have another issue for the checkpoint removal activities, as below

Meaning that: Checkpoint can´t remove expired data because the agent does not exist anymore.

Is this a design issue or I´m not understanding how to work with protection group?
