Veeam Disaster recovery test. Can't license DR server.

Doing a DR test over the weekend

1. Can't open a support case on this.
The support form says the Support ID is invalid even though on the Veeam server, under license information, the support is active under 26/02/2027

Leaving support ID blank on the support form I can enter support details - click next - upload license file - click next - blank page. No ticket logged.

2. Couldn't find a download for Veeam Backup and Recovery. So I downloaded Veeam Data Platform instead to the temporary DR server.
Downloaded the 20GB, run the setup it asks for a license. Pointed it at the .lic file - invalid license. Try to click "log in" option instead, entered the Veeam log in details and it shows a screen that says "no trial licenses available".

Are you able to re-use the production license temporarily to do a DR test? If not, how do you do a DR test?


3. Logged into Veeam.com portal and checked the licenses: https://my.veeam.com/licenses/productio ... 0000000000
It says "No Production licenses are available".


Stuck at this point.

Are you able to re-use the production license temporarily to do a DR test? If not, how do you do a DR test?
For recovery-only operations, no license is required. However, you can temporarily use your production license to access additional restore features. Keep in mind that if you plan to create regular backups with the DR server, you will need to deploy Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager to manage both Veeam Backup Servers.

License missing in your Account

I used a trial then the .lic file worked on the backup and recovery component. Good to know the community edition works too. Thank you
