Powershell module for linux

Post by jcolonfzenpr »

Hello;

I'm encountering an issue with the PowerShell repository for Linux. I'm attempting to update the Veeam module to version 13.0.1.2067-1.x86_64, but installation fails on RHEL. I've followed the official installation instructions from documentation, but the error persists.

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/p ... tml?ver=13

Error:

Code: Select all

root@docker-vm-01v:/home/godadmin# dnf install veeam-powershell -y
Updating Subscription Management repositories.
Last metadata expiration check: 0:50:04 ago on Tue 17 Mar 2026 04:19:54 PM AST.
Error:
 Problem: cannot install the best candidate for the job
  - nothing provides powershell needed by veeam-powershell-13.0.1.2067-1.x86_64 from veeam-backup-mandatory
(try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages or '--nobest' to use not only best candidate packages)
root@docker-vm-01v:/home/godadmin#
Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,

Quick sanity check, did you install PowerShell itself before trying to install the Veeam Powershell Module?
nothing provides powershell needed by veeam-powershell-13.0.1.2067-1.x86_64 from veeam-backup-mandatory
Looks like DNF cannot find powershell.
