Is WAN Accelerator limited to processing one VM at a time?
Hi,
I have two Backup Copy jobs running at the same time, with the same WAN accelerator target, and between the two only one VM is processed at a time. Is this a hard limitation of the WAN accelerator or is this a limitation of my device's hardware? (Admittedly this hardware is quite old so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the cause of this behavior.)

Hi Chris, only source WAN accelerator is limited to one VM at a time. Target WAN accelerator can receive and process multiple VMs at a time. Thanks!

Hi Gostev,
Sorry for the late reply. In that case I'll have to install another source WAN Accelerator but I'm concerned the performance of the target is not fast enough to benefit.
If during a copy job the primary bottleneck is Target WAN does that mean B&R believes it to be the WAN's connection speed or is it referring to the performance of the WAN Accelerator? If the latter I will definitely need to upgrade that device before creating another source WAN Accelerator.

Target WAN being the bottleneck means that target WAN accelerator's cache speed is the weakest point in the backup copy job processing, which is quite typical since WAN accelerators are effectively trading disk I/O for WAN bandwidth savings,

Hi!
2026 this seems to still be a limitation..? One vm at a time? I now have on large vm that will take many days to copy to hq using backup copy job. Other backup copy jobs for the same site will now wait for many days because of this limitation..!?
