Uprage to 13.0.1.2067 from 13.0.1.1071

Post by jcofin13 »

I have downloaded the entire new 20gb ISO for 13.0.1.2067. How do you upgrade from 1071? When i run the setup to install i dont get the "upgrade" option. The only option i get is "modify". Has the upgrade/patching process changed in newer 13 releases? Is it a matter of going into the "Upgrade" folder on the ISO and running VeeamBacup&Replication_13.0.0.2067_patch_20260310.exe directly?

You can download an exe here: https://www.veeam.com/kb4738 ("Download Patch Exe")

Filename: VeeamBackup&Replication_13.0.1.2067_20260310_patch.zip

why would i redownload it if it is contained in the iso? When did veeam switch to separate patch downloads vs using a full new installer for patches?

Not sure, but in the kb article, everything is explained from which version you can upgrade by which method.
This patch, available as an ISO or EXE file, is intended ONLY for patching existing Windows-based deployments of Veeam Backup & Replication 13.0.1 (build 13.0.1.180 and 13.0.1.1071).

So in your case, I would go by exe patch.

i just went ahead and downloaded teh 3.6gb patch. The one on the full iso in the /Upgrade folder was an exe at only 2.9gb which didnt make any sense. I would assume they would be the same size given they have the same file name. I figure its probably better to be safe than sorry and just grabbed the patch iso. Thank you!

When I went to upgrade to the latest patch on v12, I did the exact same thing as jcofin13, forgetting that Veeam recently moved to patch EXEs. I do think I would appreciate if the patch EXE was somewhere on the my.veeam.com Products page, whether that's in the same box as the full ISO, under Additional Downloads, or on the Updates page; it isn't intuitive to me to have the separate download only through a KB article.

Hello folks,

The procedure remains unchanged - there is nothing new.

1. You can download the full ISO from veeam.com to perform an upgrade from Backup & Replication v12.3.x to v13.0.1 Patch 2; the patch is included in the ISO and will be installed automatically.
2. You can download the patch ISO and use it to patch an existing v13 installation to the latest patch level.
3. You can download the patch EXE and use it to patch an existing v13 installation to the latest patch level.

Please take a look at this KB article for more details: Release Information for Veeam Backup & Replication 13 and Updates > Download Information

Hope it helps!

This did not work for me. I had to execute the patch exe manually from the ISO. I the past the main installer offered the upgrade option, did it not? This time I only got the possibility to "modify".

Hi DD,

Did you try to push the "Modify" button?
They have changed the name of the button, we had the same thoughts when we experienced it.

Hi DD,

Allow me to remark that the key part of the option 1 is "from Backup & Replication v12.3.x". Currently, it is possible to upgrade between major versions only using the full ISO. To upgrade between patches, options 2 or 3 must be used.

Best regards!

Here's what worked for me-

Download the latest iso
Mount the iso
Look for the "Updates" folder on the iso
13.0.1.2067 patch lives in there
Right click run as admin on the patch
