Hello,
I will build as much worker as node I have but I would like to know if they will use "intelligent" placement and go with 1 per node or if I need to manually specified 1 different host during their creation on the Veeam wizzard ?
Thanks

Re: Add worker
Our logic turns on the first worker on any available node. For other workers it tries to deploy to any other node where worker is not yet deployed. Since it uses nutanix affinity under the hood, it may turn on 2 workers on the same node but only when there are some issues on one of the nodes (for example, not enough resources)

Re: Add worker
Thanks for your answer.
I'm thinking about something... If I say on Veeam side I want the worker to be on node1 it could potentially go to node2 during backup because of ADS on nutanix side right ?
Is it a best practice to create anti affinity rule on Nutanix side or how do yo recommend to manage it ?

Re: Add worker
It potentially can, but on the other hand it should not be too bad: working backup is more important than running on a correct node.
From Veeam perspective I'd recommend either create as many workers as many nodes you have with automatic host selection. You can as well specify affinity for each of them, but result should be the same, so that is up to you.
I would suggest against modifying worker setting in Nutanix UI or REST API since these settings will be erased in case of worker re-deploy (for example, after upgrade to next major version)
