Enabling the Malware detection and VMware Snapshot impact.

Does enabling this prolong the VMware-based snapshot since the full backup is triggered?



I need to know if this can impact a high-transactional SQL Server VM.

Hi Backup.Operator,

Just to be clear, this is NOT triggering an Active Full backup, but a full read of the source disks will be required.

So yes, it will prolong the VMware snapshot time with a full disk read, so it's best to prepare a maintenance window if you have snapshot sensitive servers.
