Disk 1: 120 GB1 minimum. This disk hosts Veeam JeOS, Veeam Backup & Replication software and instant recovery cache.
Disk 2: 120 GB1 minimum. This disk hosts Veeam applications data, therefore recommended sizing depends on your backup storage needs. Any additional disks found in the system will be automatically joined with Disk 2 into the single Logical Volume Manager (LVM) spanned volume.
When used only for infrastructure roles (proxy, guest interaction,..) the second disk makes no sense and is most likely unused --> 60MB used on datastore
Please relax the requirements when not used as backup repository.
In general, the disk sizing seems a bit excessive to me. The hot-add proxy previously used a Debian VM with < 30 GB
Thanks for your request.
We have some improvements planned regarding disk requirements for one of our upcoming versions this year, but I can’t provide an ETA at this time.
For now, I recommend configuring these disks with thin provisioning (if they are virtual).
