Hello together,
I have this scenario at a customer's.
VBR Server
Hardened Repository Server -> backup target and target for VBR configuration backups
Now lets assume the VBR server dies and needs to be reinstalled using the config backup.
Leads to the following challenges:
- both the dedicated config restore application and the config restore in VBR UI/Web UI let me choose only local files for restore
- using v12 I could add the existing VHR to a new VBR instance and copy the file using VBR console and do a restore after that
- in V13 file copy for VHR is removed, no Idea how to get the file
Two possible solutions come to my mind
- Let the restore wizard select backups out of a (VHR) repository
- Provide an export function (e.g. via VHR web UI) for configuration backups. This could be enabled via the TUI, just as it is with the web interface.
Please consider a solution that would allow us to leverage the benefits of VHRs for configuration backups as well.
Thanks

Re: Feature request: Hardened Repository config backup export
Hi Michael
Browsing this file on the web UI would be useful. Until then, you can enable SSH and copy the config backup file with SCP from the VHR to your machine and upload / recover it to the newly deployed VBR. I think this is the intended solution at the moment.
