can the repo synchronization progress be fixed?

Post by pesos »

Feature Request:
We had to synchronize repos and when you start the process, it begins at 55% (interesting place to start!) and then relatively quickly makes it way up to 98%... and then it sits there at 98% for hours until completing. Can this be fixed so that the progress indicator actually indicates progress?

Hi John,

I don't think there's any issue with progress calculation. As you noticed, synchronization is a quite fast process and in some cases it takes longer to display the progress than to make it.
If a process is unexpectedly stuck, please open a support case and let our engineering investigate the root case.

Thanks!

Hi Polina, either I wrote this very poorly (completely possible lol) or you read it completely wrong...

Maybe I didn't make clear that the synchronization process is taking HOURS for larger repos. It's sitting for HOURS at 98%. Then it finally completes.

Process starts - no matter the size of the repo, it gets to 98% very quickly (within a minute regardless of repo size - few hundred gigs or a dozen terabytes - doesn't matter). Then it sits at 98% for an INCREDIBLY long time. Obviously smaller repos finish sooner and larger ones take hours. But no matter what, the indicator sits at 98% right until the end, so it's completely useless.

Thanks for elaborating - it just means I got it right )
Please open a support case to invesitage those stucks at 98% - that's not expected and I'd like our engineering to check if there's something that needs to be fixed or optimized.
