Restore from incremental

Hello,

I'm using GFS media pool with daily.
I have full on sunday.
I have incremental all other day on different tape (no append data)
If I want to restore a data on wednesday, does it mean I need the sunday + monday + thuesday + wednesday tape ?

Hi matteu,

Yes your understanding is correct. Please see this section of the User Guide as it describes the expected behavior:

If you choose a full backup point in the list, Veeam Backup & Replication will restore only this full backup. If you choose an increment, Veeam Backup & Replication will restore a chain consisting of a full backup and forward increments, necessary to restore machines to the required point-in-time.

So Veeam will handle this automatically and let you know in advance which tapes will be required before the restore begins.
