Veeam Agent (Free) - Full backup only
Hello,
Veeam Agent v13 on Windows 11
How to set-up a backup job with full backups only?
Even if I activate "Create active full backups periodically", the App is generating a incremental backup.

Hi Carlos,
You can select the days on which an active full is created. With a daily backup schedule, select all days; but keep in mind that only the first backup run per day will be an active full. Other backups on that day will be incremental.
If this setting doesn’t work as expected, please open a case with our Customer Support team for further troubleshooting.

Best,
Fabian

Yes, that was exactly the problem. To test the application, I kept changing the job schedule on the same day. Now I noticed that this way it creates incremental errors.
Now my problem is different.
In the job configuration I have: "Keep backups for X days". I set it to 7 days, however, since the backup destination doesn't have space for that many days, Veeam doesn't delete the oldest full backup? I don't see any options for that...

Re: Veeam Agent (Free) - Full backup only
Keeping 7 days with a daily full backup means you will have 7–8 full backups.
We can delete the oldest backup file on day 8, after a new full backup is created. If the agents removes backups earlier, it would violate your retention settings.
Could you share why you need daily full backups? That is an unusual setup and usually does not make much sense from a storage perspective.
Best,
Fabian

Our Agent does not delete backups based on available space. You must make sure enough space is available for the retention policy you have configured.however, since the backup destination doesn't have space for that many days, Veeam doesn't delete the oldest full backup?

I think your app should have this feature, just like apps from other producers.
If there is enough space and full backups were made without impacting the system (for example, overnight), I see no problem in using those type of backups.
Thank you again.
