Reading through the Veeam SAP HANA plugin documentation and subsequently some Googling, it doesn't look like I can remove admin control of the backups from the HANA DBA's. If they have access to HANA Tools or Cockpit, they will be able to trigger backups and restores regardless.
The best I can do is potentially remove access to the plugin configuration so they can't change any of the backups.
Are my assumptions correct?
Thanks, Rob.

Re: Removing SAP HANA Backup Control From SAP Tools
Hi Robert,
I’m not sure it’s possible, because we enable SAP Backint, and I don’t think there’s a way to restrict only the backups that use Backint. Nevertheless, you may consider using centralized management to fully control backup and restore operations from the Veeam B&R side, although manual runs on the source servers will still be possible.
Thanks!

Re: Removing SAP HANA Backup Control From SAP Tools
Morning Petr. Going through the Veeam docs and our application design, I see that we're using HANA System Replication. The plugin has to be installed in Standalone mode, which makes the problem worse really.
It's not a great situation to be in if I'm honest.
