Running backup causes Windows to force restart after 1 minute

Post by AndyParsonsIPTel »

I logged Veeam support ticket # 08083740 which was closed without investigation due to low support staff availability.

Ever since I installed the Windows 11 2025-04 KB5083769 Windows update I can't run Veeam Backup. I tried reinstalling the latest Veeam agent version 13.0.2.1102 and I can't create a backup job without Windows displaying a dialog box saying it needs to restart in 1 minute with another dialog box citing a security package issue.
Screenshot of crash dialog box - https://aparsons.com.au/files/veeam/scr ... dialog.png

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated,
Andy

Hello, Andy,

Yes, I see such reports. Let me dig into it a bit deeper internally. Hold on, please.

Hi @AndyparsonsIpTel
I am no part of Veeam support infrastructure, however I would like to give you an hint.

Makes sense to you to run

Code: Select all

sfc /scannow

Hello, Andy,

Small update, we are already working on that issue with Microsoft. Can you please confirm you are using Windows 11 25H2 with EntraID accounts?
It seems like the only problematic pattern found so far.
