I see the default retention policy on a M365 backup policy in VDC is 1 year and requires Veeam Support to change it. What is the max allowed when requesting an increase?
Thanks!

Re: Max Retention Policy in VDC M365
We have an option called “unlimited” formerly known as “keep” whereby all items will be retained without any retention processing.

Does it cost more than the standard pricing when it's changed to unlimited?

No, pricing is the same. Veeam is not charging for additional storage - you only pay for protected users.
