Reporting Retries

Post by dinger76 »

Hi,

We've just been asked by our auditors for SOX compliance to start recording when a job or a virtual machine has been successfully backed up using a retry of a backup job rather than just on the first backup run. This is to allow us to go through and understand if a particular machine is causing issues with the backups.

Is there a simple way to get the information on a daily basis either from the web page or the gui to allow us to record this information for our weekly backup reports? Ideally I don't want to go through each of the 30+ backup tasks to see which virtual machines had to retry.

Thanks in advance

Chris

Chris, not as sample but you can track all the failed jobs using Enterprise Manager's Last 24 hours report. Also, there is a PowerShell job status report created by one of our customers, could be helpful.
