Are you able to backup a windows server?

Post by cas_three »

I just added a windows server under Managed Servers, but I don't see how to back it up?

Are there instructions somewhere?

Thank you

No it is not, just a standlone Windows 2008 R2 server. does Veeam not allow for standalone server backups? Just vm's?

I am backing up all of our vm's with no problems through Veeam.

Veeam can only backup VM's. The add windows server under managed servers is for adding windows servers as proxies and repositories

Thats right. Veeam is a backup solution for VMs only. The only way to "backup" a physical server is with a File Copy job. But it's just a simple file copy operation. No dedupe, no compression.
