How to enable retry when running a job via the command line?

Post by jzemaitis »

Hi,

I have several jobs that I'm running via a command line. All are working fine but one of the jobs gets some failures. If I schedule a job I can select how many retrys I want, but when it's not scheduled the retry options are grayed out. Hmm... Any switches I should know?

Hi Joe, I will be able to provide the answer next week, when lead developer returns from vacation.

Hi Joe, apparently it is possible to perform retry cycles from command line too, all you need to do is replace "backup" word with "retry" in your existing command line for your job. Can you leverage this in your command line solution?

"D:\PATH\Veeam.Backup.Manager.exe" backup c1f9d2c3-a3ea-4337-af59-119a9b2e1dca

If I do that will it retry it as many times as I specified when creating the job?

No, it will just run one retry cycle. But I suppose you could run this command a few times from the script, if you'd like.
