Backing up direct to tape

Hello all,

I would like to make a Veeam B&R 6.1 back-up to tape and need a bit of help setting this up.

A forward incremental job is configured and the tape drive is used as backup repository.
The bob fails with the following error:

10-9-2012 22:41:40 :: Error: Client error: File does not exist. File: [E:\CNX\CNX2012-09-06T164807.vbk].
Failed to restore file from local backup. VFS link: [summary.xml]. Target file: [MemFs://Tar2Text]. CHMOD mask: [0].

Now it seems to me that the backup fails because the .vbk files can not be found if the tape in changed.
Does a backup to tape need to eb configured an other way?

Backup direct to tape is not supported.

According to posts on here it is being looked at for future releases. For info I use Backupexec to offload my Veeam backup to tape.

is there a workaround if it goes to disk first?
I do have enough space available on a NAS but the thing is we want to have an off-site copy so theres where the tape comes in.

I dont have arcserve or backup exec available im affraid.

You will need some type of software that will enable you to write to tape I'm afraid. There was a thread on here a week or so about freeware for tape backup, maybe dig that up and see if anyone came up with any good suggestions.
