Use of Microsoft iSCSI target hardware provider

Post by tibrunet »

Hi,

I did a lot of research on the subject, but I couln'd find a definitive answer. Here is our setup:
- Windows 2k8r2 box with the MS iSCSI target software v3.3 installed: our SAN
- Cluster of 3 hyper-v hosts connected to the SAN, volumes configured as Cluster Shared Volumes

Can Veeam successfully use the Hardware provider that comes with the MS iSCSI target software on our hyper-v hosts / proxy? If yes, can I safely connect a proxy to our SAN and present to it the same volumes which are used as CSV volumes for our Hyper-v cluster?

Thank you in advance!

Bernard

Yes, this hardware provider can also be used.

Yes and actually this is exactly how you should configure your off-host proxy server.

Thanks!

Hi,

Just a follow up to let you know that everything works perfectly when using MS iSCSI hardware provider (version 3.3).
