Hi all
We are using Veeam on a client's HyperV environment.
They have a virtual Windows 2003 server running Lotus Domino Server.
Can anybody tell me if it is necessary to stop the Domino service before the backup job starts?
Also, if stopping the Domino service is required, how soon can we start the service again? Does the whole backup job have to finish, or can we start the Domino service sooner?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Backup of Lotus Domino server in HyperV
Hi Simon,
Based on existing topics on these forums our customers prefer to start/stop their Domino services while running backup jobs against these servers. I assume that the backup technique should be the same for both virtualization platforms, VMware and Hyper-V.
Please note that Domino services should be freezed only during snapshot creation operation, so you do not need to wait till the end of the entire backup job.
Thanks!
