Change Recovery Location Explorer for Exchange

Good morning all,

I am trialing the explorer for exchange feature from 6.5 with 6.5 backups and I get the image posted in the thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13960&start=0&hilit ... .1+backups

Checking the logs though the path it is attempting to restore the edb file to is C:\Users\<SvcAccount>\AppData\Local\Temp\i4gjnfke.a4d\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Mailbox Database 1096981922

Is this just a logical reference or is it actually extracting the edb and log files from backup to this location? reason is that the system disk does not have the capacity to allow the extraction. Is there a setting to redirect this path to say D:\Temp which does have sufficient capacity?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't actually use any space in that location, the C:\Users\<SvcAccount>\AppData\Local\Temp\i4gjnfke.a4d path is just a temporary location used as a mount point for the backup image.

If you're getting an error about applying JET database needing recovery, that's a known issue with the current release and the workaround is posted in the same thread you linked to (basically manually opening the database and logs).

Are you saying that the "workaround" doesn't work for you?
