backup and replication of vmA 5.0.0.2

Post by she »

Hi
in the moment I have a running config with veeam 6.5 where I do a backup and replication of a vma 5.0.0.2 which seems to work without error
Today I upgraded a host from 5.0 to 5.1 and while started the vma I got a fsck failure and the root filesystem is mounted RO. There are so many inode errors that a
powered of the vma. I tried to start recover from some old backup but still all backups have the same fault, also the replicas (3 month back)

So I checked my second vma on a diferent host with esx 5.0. The vma was running ok, I tried a shutdown a reboot and after that I got the same fsck errors.
Also in all Backups. Host and storages are ok and complete different.
The vma is standard with installed APC 3.01 shutdown tool
Any help what the problem could be ?
Is there any problem with backup and replication of a vma ?

Hello, does your VMA has the latest VMware tools installed?

Vmware Version is 4 and vmware tools are the default tools which are integrated in the vma. I never changed this.
Its independend third party tool.

Did you enable VMware Tools quiescence for this backup job?

In this case I'm not sure there is anything to do with how backup job handles this VM, since you've stated that you see the same behavior while rebooting your appliance:
