Veeam One and Vkernel

Post by nholman »

Hi again

During my testing of veeam one i thought it would be wise to test vkernel also to get a good comparative view of differnet products with their pro's and cons.

One thing i have noticed is how veeam one and vkernel report on memory oversizing...we have one vm that veeam says is oversized on memory but vkernel says it is sized properly. So im kinda confused about why there is a difference really and if you can give any insight into this?
thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,

Veeam ONE is using this logic to detect oversized VMs, not sure what vKernel does in its calculations. Btw, what do average "memory usage" and average "memory active" counters show for this VM? Does this VM use all its allocated memory?

Thanks!
